Hello (again) World!

Andrey Ternovskiy, Wed Jan 01 2020

Since you’re reading this, I assume you know what our platform is and have used it yourself. You may have heard about the site from friends, or via social media. I imagine you may also have conducted some Google research. If you have, you’ll know we’ve been around for 10 years, our product was a huge hit, and that we’ve gained fame and notoriety.

I’ve chosen to stay largely out of the spotlight for the past 10 years. This was because I felt I’d had enough attention in the early days. And because I decided to focus on delivering new things to people before speaking to the public again.

Chatroulette has been unpredictably successful because I unwittingly came up with just the right set of features that made people go wild with excitement. I was a kid (17) when I was given this fortunate successful venture. It’s become successful thanks to the creativity of my users who have taken the basic things I’ve developed and used them to create amazing content.

When I started, I was full of energy and I had the ability and desire to develop the software and learn more and more. Since 2017, it’s been my ambition to leverage Chatroulette’s success to create a significant company.

Things take time, and I’m now in a position to escalate efforts. At the moment, we are a company of five people, including myself. But a project the size of Chatroulette with some 2m users per month wants more.

Right now, we’re building a team of brilliant thinkers and doers – right here in Zug, Switzerland.

This blog will be about our work in progress and my journey towards turning 15 minutes of fame into a real company.
